Northeastern’s MARC program quickly building national reputation

Ryan Borchert wanted two things before he would enroll in college: a little more money, and a little more maturity. After serving six years in the Illinois Army National Guard as a combat medic, it’s safe to say he earned both.

In May, Borchert will earn his Bachelor of Science in Biology and enter the prestigious Interdisciplinary Biological Sciences Ph.D. Program at Northwestern University, an accomplishment for which he gives considerable credit to the National Institutes of Health MARC (Maximizing Access to Research Careers) U-STAR Program at Northeastern Illinois University.

The Great Courses releases comparative economics series by Edward Stuart

The Great Courses, a company that identifies, carefully crafts and distributes polished lecture series for busy lifelong learners who don’t have time to take college classes, has released a course about comparative economics by Northeastern Illinois University Professor Emeritus of Economics Edward Stuart.

Rastrelli Cello Quartet to perform as part of Jewel Box Series

The Rastrelli Cello Quartet will perform April 20 as part of Northeastern Illinois University’s Jewel Box Series. The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall on the Main Campus, 3701 W.

Paulo Acioli earns Northeastern research professor award

Professor of Physics Paulo Acioli has been honored with Northeastern Illinois University’s 2018 Bernard J. Brommel Distinguished Research Professor award.
